Thats a pretty good deal TBH, and its much cheaper than the 2s2p 8000mah packs. It's not voltage that damages controllers, its current. You stand a bigger risk damaging your controller with 4s lipo and a hotter motor, than you do with 6s and a high turn motor.

With 6Ah of charge in those packs you will have absolutely know problem doing a couple of warm up laps, followed by a 20minute main, followed by a couple of victory laps (after you smoke those nitros) :D:D:D

6s on a 9xl motor would run a warm up lap 5 min qualifier with a main.

Current, eh? High voltage could actually be more likely to kill a controller than high amps, since these controllers usually have thermal shutdowns caused by the heat produced when a lot of current is drawn. High voltage can actually damage the components, and that is a huge reason why there are capacitors on the input of controllers like the Warriors and MGMs.

Still you wouldn't want your controller to thermal in the middle of a 20minute main.

crazy, i wouldnt even think about getting that big of a thunder power pack because there made of 2000mah cells. the 8000mah packs are HUGE!

A 3S TP8000 would be huge for sure. I think the max amps is the way to go for a 6S system after looking at it. They are cheaper I'm thinking because they are 10C packs VS. 12C for the TP but a 10C 6000 can still give 60 amps so that should be plenty without working them too hard.

So BK 9920, dual Max Amps 3S 6000s, Wanderer 10XL. Does this sound good?
$520 for all. Then $550 for G maxx plus wheels, tires, body, radio, and a high-torque servo. I'm probably looking at $1400.

yea. thats exactly what im going to be running. i already have a converted revo with a 10xl on 16 cells, soon to be 6s lipo, and soon after a g2r with a center diff.
