Combining the Channels on a Hyperion EOS0615i Charger - 11.02.2010, 07:27 PM

I just received a Hyperion EOS0615i charger and I am in a dilemma. My bike has six 6s 5ah packs. I have them wired in parallel pairs to an Anderson connector with three 6s 10ah connections.

If I were to split the pack in half and do one half for each charger, I would have to spend all evening re-wiring the bike and using up expensive Andersons.

The easiest way for me to do it would be to combine the two channels op my charger and parallel charge the three ports. In total, it's a 6s 30ah pack. I do not balance when I charge the main pack; I charge to 95% capacity and periodically balance each pack individually as needed.

The manual discretely states "NEVER ATTEMPT TO CHARGE A SINGLE BATTERY ACROSS BOTH PORTS of a DUO charger or 2x NET chargers.

So if I try to parallel the two charge ports, will it work?

I would say if the manual says don't do it, then there is probably a legitimate reason

Probably a good way to fry it.

Charge two packs, and charge the third after. Welcome to ebiking with RC chargers, it pretty much sucks unless you make a new charging harness for every bike and use andersons. Even then it still sucks.
