I personally keep the timing low, usually at 5 degrees. You can experiment around and see what you like most.
Just to let you know, the MGM Compro 8012 (cube design?) may not be able to handle the amps that the 9L can pull with 4s Lipo. In my 1/8 electric buggy, I run a 9L with 4s Lipo, along with a MGM Compro 12012 (the heatshrink version without heatsinks), and it gets up to about 140 degrees F from a normal run.
