I'm not having any issues with the HD silver center diff cups on FB2, no denting either vs the black ones. Wish they make em also for the outer drives on the diffs.

If you want to wear notches in your drive cups after the first few batteries then get the chrome ones. If you want them to last a long time (my stock flux cups show VERY little wear after maybe 30 batteries) then run the flux/XL units. I cant say for a fact that the flux/XL uses standard X center drive cups or not.

Can you show pics of the used chrome vs the used stock black ones?

86276 and 86277 I haven't seen before.

http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/86276/ says they are a option part for even the Flux, but then again they claim they are standard on the X SS.

Sometimes HPI just can't get their story straight.

This is my previous front drive cup (stock Flux)


The rear one was no where near as bad.

On my new build I'm using part 86277 as per Freezebyte and both front and rear are wearing well, about the same as the old rear stock one. Not using 86276 as I don't have the gearbox.

Wow, thats a lot of wear! I just went and looked at mine and there is actually no wear at all, I thought there was a little but i was mistaken. Here is a pic of mine. I only run 5s and 6s

both my old gear box ones look fine like yours, it's front\rear diff ones that had wear on them.

I just looked at mine and yeah they are a little worn but not quite as much as yours. I remember I tried the chrome cups on my old nitro savage and they didnt last nearly as long as the stock ones, they were almost like butter. I wonder why the tranny output cups dont wear?

I have both types, ands will try them both out and see how they do...

Tried to fit the atomic hubs, but I need a shorter lower hingepin. The stock carriers sit outside the arms, but the atomic (and integy and hpi) hubs sit insde, making the pin too long. They did not come with the correct length pins either... BS.

Did some research, apparently hpi sold a 4x50mm shaft set that secures with e clips on each end. Not available anymore. This is what others have used with the atomic hubs. I could add a screw to the arm to capture the flanged end of the stock hpi pin. And then cut the end off that extends out. I will see if the arms have an area to add a screw.

Looks like the integy parts i got have the pins so i will give them a try with the atomic carriers.

That is them, I will see if the integy ones come with the correct length shafts. If so I will just pirate those!

I have the Integy XL carriers, they came with the correct length shafts for the Flux lower arms.

Good to know, the atomic website shows the carriers with correct length pins in the pics, but both of mine did not come with any in the packets, and no mention of them in the instructions. Oh well.
