How good is traxxas' service? - 01.09.2011, 04:29 AM

Picked up a mini erevo recently just to play with at the house, and I think the esc just smoked on me...

How good is traxxas warranty, and how long do I have to return it? How do I go about returning stuff? Pretty sure one of the servos is dead too, not sure why that happened either.

1st new traxxas vehicle I have bought since the old xl1 pede that started my hobby addictions...

I think they have 30 day warranty on electronics. Ive sent a few things back to them, nothing that was under warranty, but just to pay for a replacement. Turnaround was fast, i called first, but dont think they gave me a r/a number or anything, just sent in with discription of problem. I had a couple of the original vxl esc's that the solder post had broken off the boards. They had been taken apart and resoldered a couple times, looked in bad shape, they actually replaced them with the new waterproof ones for free, and they were well over a year old. That being said, if you have to pay to fix the esc, I'd just chuck it. I was sick of the cogging, lack of brakes, touchy reverse with the stock one. Originally I put in an ezrun 60a in it. Was a completely different truck. Smooth takeoff, great brakes, fixed everything the stock one was ticking me off about, it now just has a 35a ezrun in it, that has handled the task just fine can't tell any difference between it and the 60. Don't know what servo problem you are having but when mine flip over, sometimes the front wheels get jiggy with it. They cycle back and fourth till you flip it over. They do fine when on the ground. I've had 2 merv's and they both did it so I guess its normal.

Call them and they will take good care of you. They sent me replacements before I sent them back most of the time. I also sent an EVX in for repair, which they lost, and when I called about it they sent me out a brand new unit next day air no charge. I have always had excellent luck with there service but I always call and speak to someone first before sending it in which I think gets you better and quicker service. They are on par with Castle in the service arena.

well if yo9u get anything back sell it the stock mini revo esc and servos suck, grab an 82mg servo and any esc you want to run the stock motor and have fun beating the hell out of it.

Have fun with the diffs, they are no better than the revo/maxx diffs, if anything they are worse.

Thanks for the advise guys. I did plan to upgrade the esc anyways, something likr the cheap hobby king 35amp esc should do, for 15 bucks...

Might swap out the motor, cause I think it has a bent shaft, never did mesh right even from new.

82mg servo, sounds like a good idea, do traxxas make a single servo arm for it?

TRX returns are pretty good within the first few months or purchase, after that they argue with you about little shiz.

FYI the hobby wing esc's are fab for the little RC's

Order form HobbyPartz.com, there out of Cali and ship for free.

Yeah, so did mine, and it died early so the lhs gave me another and I have a feeling it is going out too. Will send both back with the esc.

Keeping the little revos light weight is KEY to keeping them in one piece, i dropped the esc and rx in the right battery tray and then put one 2s 2200 lipo in the other side with the stock motor it flat ripped, never broke, ran right at 40mph.

for tires the crt.5 stockers or a set of 1/10th buggy goosebumps on the bbt wheels are great.

I am thinking 2s will be the best bet. Will have to look thru my lipo collection and see what fits. Anyone have max battery dimensions handy, the truck is at work and I am at home today...

I just picked up some of these packs for my Xray M18T. Can't comment on the performance yet, but for the price I think they are worth a shot. The little pics in the middle of the listing show them fitting perfectly in the Traxxas mini.

As a note, the first pair I ordered were like pictured with the removable leads, then I ordered a second pair which said "V2" and had permanent leads on them. Other than that they are identical, but if you want one type or the other might be a good idea to contact them first.

Free shipping out of Cali

I run these in my minis, 30-40minute run time depending what car. A real steal for the money, Lots a punch and 20C is plenty for these tinys things IMO.

Interesting, can't go wrong for the price. Wire two of those packs in parellel for great runtimes.
