Wierd mamba max pro issue -
01.25.2011, 01:08 PM
Hey guys, quick question for all you MMP users out there....I have MMP that I've been running in my 10sc for the past year and it's been working great! However, after only running on 2s 40c 5000mah's I wanted to see how fast this thing is on 3s...when I plug in the 2s pack's the esc arms up fine, no problem...however, when I plug in the 3s pack, nothing happens...?? (no power to Rx, servo either and all connections on batteries and voltage is good)
The esc also doesn't arm when I plug in my 4s or 5s lipos as well.....BUT after running a whole 2s pack through my truck, the esc then powers up just fine. Anyone else have this issue? Guess the MMP doesn't like cold starts?

What do you have the LVC set for? If you have the LVC set for a certain voltage, it may see the higher voltage as a "problem". Not sure how the MMPro handles higher voltage than expected, but worth a look. IMO, the best setting is auto-lipo, and then set the per-cell LVC to something like 3.2v.

lvc IS set to "auto-lipo" and cutoff is set to "3.2v" i agree with it being the best setting :)
the rest of my setup is as follows:
1512 1.5d/f
sr300/dx3s
hitec 7995tg
5-5-5 diff's
all settings are default except except its auto-lipo cutoff is set at 3.2v....

I've heard of someone else around here having to warm up their MMP for it to initialize, maybe they'll show up and chime in.

That's odd. I would try flashing to another firmware version. If that fixes it, you could try going back to what you had to see if it's firmware-related, or the ESC got "confused".
If it still doesn't work on anything above 2s, measure the BEC output on more than 2s. I'm just curious about something...

Flashed to the previous firmware...still did the same thing....and I'm running a CC BEC btw, set at 6v......
As for te warming up deal, I actually ran a blow dryer on a cold MMP for about 2min on low, and lo and behold , the MMP started right up on 3s 4s, and 5s when a couple min ago, it wouldn't arm...lol....guess I have to put a hair dryer in my tool box :)

Yup I had the same thing happen some time ago where it would only start up and arm on a 2a lipo when it was under 90f. Was running a 3s setup so just packed a heat gun in the pit box and gave my electric sc truck the nitro startup treatment. Oh the things we do to turn on our cars......Figured it out one day while it was sitting in the window in the sun plugged in and all the sudden it came alive. Pretty funny.

Do I have a problem with my MMpro????
I have two MM and one MMpro.
All three work great as far as I can tell.
About a mouth ago (I'm not sure if it was an update) only my MMpro started blinking all the LED's continuously when ever I'm using the link.
Before that all three of my ESC's did pretty much the same thing with regards to the LED's flashing when I'm using my computers to make a change.
My two MM's are still the same, they don't blink all the LED's all the time like my MMpro does now.
Is my MMpro trying to tell me something is wrong with it ????
Thank you for your time.
