Don't you just love the time we are living in for RC, new cool stuff every day! There is so many fantastic things like 6s 1/8 buggy bashing, 1/5 brushless at lower prices and the tech is getting better every day! And the best, sharing it over the net to get new ideas and inspiration.
I just had to say I feel like I live in the future, hehe Anyone feel the same?

I have the cars that I really wanted before I got them ;-)
YES you are right about that TG. I have been interested in R/C since the 60's but growing up in poverty the best we could do was watch from a far. I have only been able to get involved since 2005 or so, and I am amazed at how much has changed just since then. The improvements in ESC and motor technology has been incredible in just the last two years, not to mention the introduction of Lipos/Lifepos, and other battery technolgies as well. Things are really moving along, and I am anxiously looking forward to the next few years for whats coming. Bringing costs down is great and hopefully our economy will also improve in the coming months/years.
I love the computer connectivity of all the electronics. I can adjust ESC settings, view datalogs from my EagleTree, connect my charger to monitor lipos while charging, even connect my transmitter to customize all the functions.
Being 42 and having been in our hobby since being a teenager, the changes we are and have seen are astonishing to say the least. My first rc was a lunch box followed up by an associated rc 10 with the gold chassis. Now, I own 3 mugens and a slash with the ability to have 15+ mins of run time. Back then if you were able to get 5 mins you were lucky. Just goes to show the advancements in our hobby. The electronics today are mind blowing for what they do. When I started out in this hobby, mechanical speed controllers were being used. Now, the escs can do everything but talk to the driver..simply amazing.
The new technology has definitely inspired my passion once again for this hobby...and made my wallet a lot lighter as well

2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

Magman, I am 42 also..I remember those days of 5 minute runs thinking the run times were great...That is so funny. I also remember the mechanical speed controls with big fat ceramic resistors. Then getting my first electronic speed control...thinking it was the coolest thing ever! Then I got into 1/8 scale nitro buggies because electrics were too slow....Now brushless electrics are faster than nitro and have great run times.
Now 60mph all day long is achievable for 15-20 plus minutes with brushless...
Funny thinking back to those days of Nicds and brushed motors.... Best thing is that Brushless is still pretty new and will only get better and better....fast!
