I want to buy a truggy for BL conversion, and want to get what suits me the best. So i`m hoping for some answers, since i know very little about them..

What i want:
-It will be run on BL, probably 5s 2200kv 1515, or perhaps even a 1717.
-I want it to be VERY durable. It will be used for bashing only, and it will be used hard!! It will see very huge jumps now and then..
-I do not care for 10th`s of a second at race track, at all.
-It must be metric, since i got ALOT of metric screws and tools.
-It should be easy to wrench, since i like to do alot of maintanence.
-I`d love to have a car that has alot of chop shops on ebay.
-And i like to have some kind of sidewalls on the chassie, to keep some dirt away...

I`ve allready got a tip about the RC8T FT champ, and i`m close to buying one new, as i dont want a bad maintained truck. This looks like a great truggy to me.
But i also got an eye open for MBX6T, D8T, 8ight-T (is this a metric built truck?).

Dont know what conversion kit i will use yet, but that can be decided later on anyway.

Please chime in, as i will order it soon :)

My RC8T has proven to be very reliable and durable. If you do go with it I highly recomend the RC-Monster conversion, or at the very least use the RC-Monster motor mount over the Associated conversion. The associated conversion doesn't allow for a 1515 to drop right in, you must put spacers under the mount and the front diff mount to allow the motor to clear the chassis

The RCM mount/chassie looks great, even if i might want it to be 4mm instead of 3mm for insane bashing.. But it`s out of stock anyway :(

How is the drivetrain holding up to the 1515 on 5s? Ever blown diffs? Alot of diff maintanence?

The D8T also looks like a great alternative, but the RC8T has alot more spares on ebay etc :)

From my little bit of research, it seems these 3 seem to be some of the most toughest ones available.

Pity none of them are being made anymore though.
The parts are still being made for the MBX5T
Not sure about the other 2 but I can only assume that there are plenty of parts available for them also.

My vote is for the MBX5T..of course I am a bit partial to Mugen as I own 3 different Mugen vehicles. Mugen vehicles are built like tanks

I would get a MBX6-T, the RCM conversion and slipperential. With MMM and leopard 4082 1500kv/castle-neu 1520 1600kv, on 6s lipo.

Or RC8T instead, but only with the RCM chassis kit, otherwise I'd get something else.

The MBX6-T is absolutely a nice truggy..
And isnt the M-spec prebuilt with factory specs?

Does it have as strong driveline as the RC8T ? Seems like the RC8T diffs / axles are VERY durable against high power motors and insane jumping hehe.. And that i can like, alot..

I dont care much for center diff`s though, as i`m not a racer.. I will probably run a very thick center diff oil to avvoid balloning, and get more funfactor..

All truggies have a center diff so you are going to have to deal with that portion of the truggy. Mugen drive line components are very durable. And yes, they can handle insane power. My truggy is running a 1520 on 5s if that helps.

One more thing, what ever you buy, spend the time to re-shim your diffs or they will not last under BL power

My diffs have held up with no issues other than a bearing failure with no additional shimming, two years and counting

It is, and he`s not the only one claiming it..

If RCM had the rc8t conversion in stock, i think this would be an easy choice for me.
Now it seems like i`ve got either Tekno or AE to choose from.. But i guess Tekno is OK too?

What are the main difference on Tekno and RCM, other than looks? What makes RCM`s kit so much better?

Tekno is a whole new chassis, battery tray, motor mount, different layout, easier to setup mechanical brakes.

RCM, is just the motor plate/mount.

Well, yeah, but i was thinking RCM chassie conversion vs Tekno

But when thinking about it, changing AE`s champion edition chassie feels alittle wrong.
Is the Tekno chassie any good?

I dont want mechanical brakes on mine.. I think it`s allready heavy enough, and want as few moving parts in it as possible.

Ahh, oops... didn't realise that RCM had a full chassis kit for them.

Yeah, I thought about going all out and getting the tekno kit for my MBX5T but after thinking about it, I thought it would be kinda dumb to replace the BCE chassis thats already on it.
