It was interesting to see in the e-Baja section of HBF that people assumed Castle was incompetent since it had some difficulties with the Mamba XL. And many had hope that FighterCat (a much much smaller company) was going to be able to produce a reliable esc without going through the same issues that Castle has had to deal with.

So people are having problems with the car ESC. I read the problems in the HPI Baja forum and it's the same problem as the Suppo 30A ESC I tested, but I stopped right away to avoid the magic smoke . I hope Ben asks the manufacturer to work out the bugs so the car ESCs can be another choice for everyone.

^^ I wonder if Fightercat suffers from the same issue of large ripple voltage that Mamba XL users have exerienced.

Hard to tell from the Baja forums because the few who purchased Fightercat esc, as they seemed so jaded to begin with. Getting some true confession will now seem like sour grapes.

Remember when everyone here went to Digikey to buy 35v capable low esr caps that helped out the early Mamba Monsters? I know Castle has their own cap bank out, but I'm wondering if I can't solder up a bank which has nearly double the uF capacity.

I added (4) 1000 uF caps to mine. Hope to run it later this week.
