Build up Flux XL or pick up something else? - 01.22.2012, 07:32 PM

So I'm pondering what to do. I have a mostly assembled Savage Flux HP with a 1OffRC XL extension. It was bought before the bulletproof diffs, so it still has the originals. The motor and esc are stock, but the servo is a 7955TG. My thoughts are if I decide to keep it, I'd do the following:

Keep the stock diffs until I kill them (still have 1 new spare as well)
Upgrade the motor with a RCM mount to a Castle/Neu 1520
Add the HPI 24mm Adapters with Pro-Line Bow-Tie 5B Rears all around
Buy this body: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FIBREGLASS-P...ht_8759wt_1378

Or I can just get it up and running to sell and buy something else. I also have a 5SC sitting here waiting to be built, so I'm not real keen on building up something as large as the Flux XL. I was thinking perhaps a buggy or TT MT4. FWIW, I have at least 1 of every castle monster motor available to use 1512-1800, 1515, 1518, 1520 and a 1717.

Thoughts?

You're already not sure about building up the Savage, so why sink any $ into it? Get it running and dump it for a truggy or buggy, they're more fun IMO anyway. I'm a MT guy, but I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of my 8ight-T 2.0, that thing was awesome on 5s with the 1520. Besides you have the 5sc for big offroad action if you wantd it.

I guess the real question is, what do you want from a RC?
If you want some more monster truck or truggy.
That is what need to figure out before deciding on truck.
