I got my truck running!! - 03.31.2006, 04:09 PM

Hi all, I got my first bl project running (e-maxx). It runs great. I have a 8xl and a 9920 and right now I am running 14 GP3700's and it is very fast. Does anyone know why the motor had to have spacers so the pinion and spur would align (see pic's). Thanks to this form I was able to build this truck without any problems. Here are some pictures, Thanks everyone!! :027: :027:

nice truck, was there a reason for you to get the fastlane chassis than the gorrilla maxx, how does it perform? looking great though nice job.

Take it outside and shoot some better pic's, these doesn't do the truck much justice. That's one nice maxx.

It lookes like your spurgear is tweaked. I would not run the motor like this, since it should be straight. Reassemble the slipper and see if it's better.

I agree with Sneek, it looks crooked. nice truck

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Thanks guys, To answer your questions. 1) Mike L. I went with the FLM chassis because I wanted it to be all one brand and the price and warranty are great.:027: The truck handles great! It will do good donuts, just like the MT's on tv lol. 2) Sneek, I will get some better pic's. I hope to get a video on here all I have to do is learn how to download it.:032: I have went over the slipper and can't find anything wrong. It runs awesome the way it is but I am going to take it apart and check it again. 2) Yes I did remove the grease from the bearing Serum but still can't figure out why the pinion and spur wont line up.:032: I have run it several times and the esc runs about 110 degrees and the motor and batteries run about 100 degrees. It runs about 20 min.'s of all out running and is almost uncontrollable. The only odd thing it does is when I turn my radio off sometimes it takes off backward about 5 ft. I have a MX3. Oh yea I have already stripped the proline velocity's :005: It's time for 23mm or aluminum lol. Thanks again for all the help and I hope to meet all of yall in August.

MMdooley;

I didn't meant that the grease had anything to do with the wobble in the spur. it was just a head up..

is the input shaft straight? You can bent the spur straight, just by hand, if the input shaft is straight.

I hope you not cutting the controller off before the truck. It will take off backwards then. I notice mine when I turn it on wants to go backwards for a little. I think it is a fail safe feature of the spektrum. The 5 sec of reverse would be brake on nitro.

Peace!

Could it be that the FLM tranny half case is the reason why the spur is wobbling? the top shaft in my half case does not look straight and my spur is wobbling, too. Mike?!!

Well my spur does not wobble Captain. It did at first but that's because the slipper was on wrong. The angles are off so the gears don't mesh right. It's like one side of the stock mount is bent?:032: Yes coolhand I do turn the radio off first. I don't have a on/off switch on the truck. Should I get one?? Thank for the heads up Serum now I know what you meant:007: I will take some more pic's of the spur and pinion so yall can have a better view.

Nice truck, mmdooley!

Well, the spur is crooked but does not wobble!? This would mean the input shaft is not perfectly perpendicular to the motorplate...
Hmm, either you motorplate is bent or not flush on the tranny, or there's something wrong with the tranny-case.
Are you sure the plate is properly on the case?

I always switch the truck off first. And no need for a switch, I just pull a plug.
Always swith ON the transmitter first (at the beginning of a run), and switch OFF the transmitter last (at the end of the run). So your receiver is never without radio signal!
