When running 5s or 6s in my MMM RC8be I get a loss of radio communication for a split second sometimes. Not even enough for the electronics to reset. I thought about getting a BEC, but is this some a homemade rx cap would sort out?

you should check if all the wires are ok, and that there are no other reasons for your problem. Long time ago I have added a cap to the rx system, no problems whatsoever. they are cheap, so go for it, for wiring take some old servo-wires. I don't know exactly the specs of mine, just have a big one.

Some servos are very hungry for power, so that can affect the rx. Further, some bec's arent tat strong. Probably the MMM's BEC isn't that great. You can add an UBEC, there are some good ones out there, which aren't expensive at all. Some of the turnigy/hobbyking are ok, but not all of them.

My Savox Servo is definately stronger and faster (almost too much) with the ubec, compared to the bec of the Hobbywing ESC.

Most likely yes - Look at the ones mike sells or Novak sells a glitchbuster all wired up.

Even with a Castle BEC i've had some servo's still need a RX Cap.

I'll stop my RS soon. I do have a question though. How do I choose the voltage of the cap? Does it matter what voltage I'm sending to the esc? I run anywhere from 4s to 6s with this system.

The voltage the ESC sends to the RX is always ~6v regardless of the batteries you are using, since that is inbuilt BEC output voltage, independent of everything else.

A 12v cap will be perfect- 2000-4000uF rated for 105°C.
