Free Reign, What to build!!? - 10.19.2012, 11:52 AM

Hi guys, haven't been around for ages but good to be back !
Basically for my A level technology course next year I get to design and build whatever I want and seeing as I have free reign on school's materials and equipment wanted to make something RC orientated. The problem is there's so much I could do I don't know where to start so some help with ideas would be greatly appreciated. Initially I was thinking carbon chassied Erevo or something but it's been done before so ideally I'd like to be more original. Anything goes so hit me up!!
Thanks in advanced

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Make a true 1/5 scale savage! Use the 1/5 scale Losi 5ive-T drivetrain parts and RC-Monster Mikes brushless 5ive-T motor mount. Just flip the motor mount so the motor is above the diff rather than beside it.

Make your own TVP's to house the front, rear and center diffs.

Of course power it with a 2028 and MMXL on 8s....

You could use the losi a-arms, diff housing and what not...

Innovative rc 5b shocks (huge) for the monster truck look...

If I had free reign right now, that is what I would build. I'd make the wheelbase just a hair bigger than the 5ive-T... truly make it the king of trucks!

On what will the build be evaluated, just build anything? or is there merits for ingenuity; cleanliness of build; tolerances... ?

A 1/5 scaler would be cool but I'm just worried about the cost of the parts I can't make myself. A battlebot would be great! Just what to do with it, there's so many possibilities! It will be evaluated on how I complile my portfolio so writing a brief, initial ideas, development etc. I don't actually have to make what I design if I don't want to but there's no fun in that ;)! Therefore it won't affect what I'm limited to creating

Build the ultimate commuter for two people, fully electric, 100 mph top speed, 300 mile range, full recharge in 10 minutes. Good for extremely hot or extremely cold climates, no change in performance or range whatever the temperature. Fully enclosed with air bags, heat and A/C. Some storage for groceries or whatever. Price tag of less than $10 000. Get to work.

No brain, no headaches.

Yeah like I said the price of those is far too high, just for axles and I don't have the knowledge or rescources to make them myself
As for the commuter vehicle, I think Top Gear's version of that, "geoff" is where it's at
