Cen Nemesis brushless conversion - 08.27.2012, 10:54 AM

I'm the new guy here and though I'd share my converted nemesis. I bought it used a couple years ago off craigslist for $180 and only drove it a few times since then.

As you can see I was very excited when I got it.

As with every nitro it runs good when I get it, and the more I "tune" the more of a PITA it is. So I finally decided to convert it. Fired up the old solidworks and scanned the chassis plates in. It took a couple evenings to design the mounts and overall I'm very happy. I kept the original differential and driveshafts to keep the cost down.

I ran it with a $40 hobbyking motor until my I could get a better motor.

Well the motor didn't last long. Maybe 10 minutes of light to medium driving. The motor was over 100c and the solder at the connectors melted.

The core

Yes it's still very hot

I finally snagged a 1520 on ebay for $100. Kinda upset I set the alarm wrong and missed the auction for the new 1717 that ended for $107. Oh well, This motor is still powerful enough.

I don't have any pictures with the new motor because it ripped 2 tires off the bead. Currently taping the tires and designing a diff locker.

Welcome to the club. I built my brushless nemesis like yours with a center diff and a 1717 for power on 6s wheelies real easy so I converted to 6x6 :)
So far the diff have all held up real well no broken parts!
