So I am buying another house... -
06.19.2015, 10:19 AM
Since my daughter is 4 now and I am paying for private school I have decided to move. Just 5 years ago I moved into the current house, but as luck would have it the market has gone up a lot in that area. So the move will actually lower my mortgage by a sizeable amount (about twice the value of Harold's playgirl collection's street value) and since the new house is in a much better school district, save me about 100K in private school tuition.
And the biggest plus (yeah I am selfish, who would have figured that...) is that I get a super cool man cave!!! Basically a bonus room that is over the garage, accessed by its own staircase! I was lacking my own space at the old house, as my daughter took it over as a playroom. What a little bully! So I plan to have the standard man cave appointments, couch, tv, video games systems, desk, computer, etc. I also plan to have a small "clean" workspace to complement the larger workbench that will be in the garage. And since my daughter is getting older I foresee a rc truck in her future! If she drives like her mother I will need a few in rotation....
I will take a few pics when we get settled...

Yeah Mike, its is. But... I have to remodel 4 bathrooms and a laundry room in my old house in 30 days or so. Getting there, 1 bathroom and the laundry room and done plus 2 other bathrooms in progress. I would love to have all of them moving but I have to have a working bathroom in the house....

A good school area seems to be what it's all about at the moment. Congrats on the move.

lol ! Yeah I've been laying off the hard stuff, I'm on a beer diet A buddy of mine took his 3 kids out of private school and moved to a nice school district and used their previous tuition to lease a new M6 hahaha. I'm looking for a new house not far from where I live also. I bought a big pickup and really need a 10ft garage door, 240v and a spot for my RCs lol.
I bought a RC truck lid that looks like the truck

The GMaxx will be its mini me, once I have room to work on stuff again. I inherited a garage full of stuff from my father and cant fit the lawn mower in the garage anymore. Bonne Temps

Man, I should have called you when I was in Chicago, I completely forgot you lived in Illinois.
As for updates, I have 2 half baths and one full bathroom done andI am blazing through the master right now. Removed 1 wall, moved a pocket door and gutted the bath and shower. Had to redo the shower drain and make a mortar bed for the tile. Trying to get the shower walls ready for tile this weekend and possibly get the various pieces of drywall hung up. Some tile left in that room to remove from the floor too. Went out last night to home depot and spent about 600 for the new tile, should look extra gangster when I am done. Closing on the new house on the 27th, so the old one needs to be ready to list same day. 3 weeks or so, crunch time!!!

Should have ! great restaurants out here. Don't mind the gang shootings, it's a South Side thing. I'm looking around but looking at property tax, crime rates, sales tax, and everything is crazy. I think I'll just stay here although I will bet it will be the 1st in the Union to go full bankrupt and have some government martial law. I could bet against that and end up even.

Linc-
I forget if hippie and I ever got your monkey butler back to you. That whole week we borrowed jeeves is kind of a blur. Things got… crazy…
I just thought you may want him in your new house. Now that I'm thinking about it his demeanor changed quite a bit after… well that's not important.
Never mind about the monkey butler.
