FlightPower V-Balance system -
09.21.2006, 03:14 PM
My friends,
This is the FlightPower V-Balance module for the lipo packs.
I thought its gonna be something revolutionary, but after some digging, I realised it is but a Hyperion LBA6 system in a fancy case.
I've just orderred two of these balancers along with a Schulze 636 charger and two Evo20 3s 3700mah with Hi-Rate V-Balance connectors.
I hope its gonna be a fine setup.

That actually looks like the LBA"10", not the "6". but should be good, the LBA10 is better anywho!

Does the "6" and "10" stands for the amp rate the balancer can handle?
This balancer can charge at 10amp rate.

Yeah, my graupner can do up to 10A too.
It charges thru the main leads and balances over the tabs.

Bingo!
Now, if I want to charge my 2x 3s 3700mah packs together, I can do it with two balancers, right? though I know that one is enough for it.
Can I solder the two main charging leads, which go from the balancer to the charger, together in order to charge both packs with two balancing units at once from one battery output?
I hope the question is clear..

Yeah, you can put the balancers in series, since it's acting like a 6S setup that way.
each balancer is a 3S part of the chain.

Yep, every balancer will be like a 3s balancing unit and 6s all together.
Thanks, Rene.

I thought with the right adapter it could do the 6s off one balancer.
Peace!

Yeah, that's what I wanted to do at first, but Jon Badley of FlightPower told me that he does not carry such a harness, yet. However, I'm planning to use 8s lipos in the future with my truck so 2 of these balancers is unevadable.

They don't sell them. You need to make them. I helped new e user do it on a
5s set up. Metal man and few others did as well. I like the idea of running on
for it balances the cells between the packs. By running more than one you
can accually have one pack with less voltage than the other.
Peace!

6s for one unit.
Now it seems there're some minor problems I need to solve.
