Question Buying Lipos today, need advice - 09.23.2006, 06:57 AM

I'm ready to buy my Lipos and charger today but want to make sure because getting stuff posted to the UK from America is becoming a nightmare for me, so wan't to do it as little as possible.

I will be getting the e-STATION 902 for $300 at TrueRC.

Then 2 packs of 4000mAh 3s1p from Maxamps.

Now I need a balancer and havn't a clue which one, so please help. I know nothing about the connectors and where they are used? Anything else I need?

True RC sells a balancer that works with up to 6s. It's the E-Station PB6, and can be found on the chargers page of their website:
http://home.comcast.net/~truerc/Charge/chargers.htm

Are you planning on balancing both 3s packs on one balancer? If you are, you might need to make an adapter harness like I showed in a couple of other threads.
It looks like the PB6 uses the Hyperion/Polyquest taps (balancing connector), which is what Maxamps uses standard on their batteries.

SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

Thats a very good choice! I use the 701 and its great. I to am gonna get the PB-6 since it can be hooked to the charger to display the individual cell voltage on the screen. Just to let you know, they don't have any of the PB-6's in yet. ETA is about a week or so...
