G2 Graphite Chassis - RC-Monster Forums

Does anyone have a G2 Graphite chassis. If you have this I have a few questions. First is is as strong the aluminum one has it(graphite chassis) with stood some pretty bad crashes. Also does it have the ingraving(says Gorillamaxx on both sides) on the bottom of the chassis. Whould you reccomond this over the Aluminum one. Also does anybody have the Flextek arms I just orded them off ebay for $190. And how do you like them?

What kind of speed should i expect with a Wanderer xl and a quark 125 with stick pack. Also i saw there was a Wanderer 9XL,10XL,12XL does this mean the higher the number the faster or more torque.

Both the CF and aluminum chassis are good, but they're not up for hard bashing.
CF is stiffer than aluminum, but not as forgiving as aluminum. If you are planning on getting a Gorilla chassis for bashing, make sure that the aluminum is your choice.
And no, the CF version do not have the GorillaMaxx trademark ingraved on it.

I only prefer CF over aluminum when racing. Otherwise, go aluminum.

The Flextek suspension systems are quite good and reasonably priced and as far as I've heard, all of those who have them really liked them.

Brushless motors do not perform well with stick packs- speed will be very poor. You should use batteries with thick metal bars which stand high apm draw.

The higher the number in any motor like XL9-XL12 means more torque and less speed. So, 9 turns is faster than 12 turns, but less torquey.

Thanks a ton for your opinion is has greatly helped my decision. As for the batteries i wanted to know if i could run them on the sticks and hit a decent speed, because in the meentime I will be saving up for team orion 4800 lithompolemer. Also yes I will be bashing but nothing extreme(because i live in a Neighborhood with a lot of houses -not much room to bash-) I will be just messing around in my neighborhood and periodicaly jumping medium sized jumps. Thanks again.

Surely you can use the stick packs, but I recommend you to tear them apart and rebuild them using some of Mike's battery bars to handle the brushless stress on the batts.
They wont last for long in their current format.

Well, I disagree here a tad, it would depend on how many cells you are throwing at it. A 10xl can be just as speedy as a 7xl, it would just take more cells. As far as stick packs, yes, break them down and rebuild them into side by sides with "mike's" battery bars he sells.
CF - well, have bashed the crap out mine with no problems at all.

No need for disagreement, my friend. If it was a matter of optional cell counts, then I would've chosen higher turns like you, but at a specific voltage the lower turns are always faster than higher turns.
The question was simple:

9XL,10XL,12XL does this mean the higher the number the faster or more torques.

Ah yes, agreed, I just wanted to put out there as well that cell count does have an effect. But right, specified voltage, say 12 cells...will affect each motor differently as you specified.:027:

Same here, it is very durable, more than people may think. I have launched my truck pretty good with no ramp on the backside and never had a problem with mine. Also hit a few trees of course! :eek: :026:

lol...I've only ever hit 1 tree...but it was at 1/2 a mph so I took no damage.

Well, I'm planning to get a Gorilla chassis myself and I thought that the aluminum is best for me since it has some flexibility.
I'm an -on and off- basher.:)

I have both the carbonfiber chassis and the Flextec arms on my dual BL Maxx.
I have nailed a curb twice with this setup. First time was only at about 25-30mph, chassis was fine but I did break a Flextec arm with that one. Second time was on a high speed run right in to a curb almost head on at about 45mph. Nothing happened to chassis or arms.

Very durable chassis imo. Flextec claimed that "I was the first person to ever break one" and promplty replaced it free of charge. Great customer service.

I just got the arms in yesterday they where pretty used(but they are Flextek "Meaning no matter how used they are still cool and in good condition exept for minor scratches") but today I will be polishing them(so they will look like new, more shinney). I am telling you these arms are the coolest arms I have ever seen they are light and super cool. Jonnymaxxima or anyone else who has these arms do you know if flextek sells the arm bushings. About three of mine are damaged. Also what are the best hinge pins I can get For my maxx I am always bending them. :027: :eek: :027:
