Has anyone let the smoke out of a MM yet? I don't remember reading about anyone has toasted one yet.
If someone has toased one, what setup was running when when it went?
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
Silent...But Deadly

OK! I just ran it. I disconected the bec. Took the wabash and panthers off and put some Monster GT wheels and tires on. Running the 8L,18/66, and 12 3300gp with a RX pack. I beat the crap out of it and it got hot. Drove it in the back of my house and there are alot of ruts and weeds(no grass yet) it didnt shut down at all. The only reason I brought it in was the batts, esc, and motor/ rc monster heat sink were really hot. It got awsome runtime.
So I highly argree with everyone else. Run a UBEC or RX pack. Less heat = No thermal overload!! More fun!
Where can I get a fan for the mamba?

I bought two (one for backup) for my Mamba Max. They just arrived today. I bought the Sunon GM0502PFV1-8.GN (Digikey # 259-1325-ND). For a 25mm fan, it moves a lot of air (3.5CFM). It is 5V so I will run it off my UBEC.
My plan is to use two #4 screws to mount the fan directly to the MM heatsink. The #4 screws thread themselves inbetween the heatsink fins perfectly (GordonFreeman posted the screw info on another forum).

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Haven't run full pack through yet, but aftre about 15 minutes the temps are:
esc 135, motor 123, batteries 80, with a lot of stop and go with a lot of brakes. Speed with BrianG's calculator on 12 cells was 26mph, not sure now, but looks like it picked up at least 5 mph with the battery change alone

Since i last posted i have tore up the robinson slipper, the keys on the pegs are gone and the slipper is not working right (man this thing has so much power, its insane).I have the strobe slipper already ordered, so don't need advise, just thanking all for the posts and advise that got me here. I have also run my 3s lipo in the T4 with a mamba 5700 and i'm still sheechless about it. If there is one thing everyone needs to do in rc, its to see a 5700 run on 3s, it sounds evil
