12.03.2006, 04:36 PM
ever since i got lipos, i've been tearing up the emaxx driveshafts in my revo. I've gone through 4 so far. Any1 know how to beef it up? I think dafni got cvds, but i doubt i can make them.

Talking about the tupperware center ones i presume?
you can replace them with steel shafts, i think Mike can help you out with the custom shafts and the needed cups.

Well a shaft failure at a race or money in pocket. It has to be a choice made.
Peace!

I wonder why the stock shafts wont fit ( revo ) ? If anything, you gonna have to spend 40$ on the dog bones and cups .. its somthing that you will put in the truck and leave - mikes driveshafts are bullet proof imo.
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

I have always been told "Buy cheap, buy twice". if you are breaking emaxx driveshafts and revo's don't fit, you need steel shafts.
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

When I made a Dafni-style Revo, it didn't look like the stock Revo shafts would fit so I had some 'bones up from Mike without even trying the stockers. Since then, a few people have said Revo shafts will fit if you shave a tad off the edge of the bulkhead where they rub. I don't know - something to try...

hey man it seems you have a good setup and a lot of mula into your truck. you have brushless, lipos, and and electric revo. this combo is probably of at least 1 grand. if i were you even though mikes shafts are expensive they are worth it. Look at it this way if you truck is all decked out why not make it run good. For example dont buy a 5 thousand dollar cnc machined titanium revo if you are going to put a 9l in it with a crappy controller( a metaphore in a way. My point is if you spent that much on the truck the extrs 45 bucks are worth it to ensure the truck runs as good as the money you put into it. Also look at it this way you have already broke 4. if you break about 8 more you are already at the price of an rc monster steel shafts and you dont even have good shafts, you just spent the money on temporary items when you could have got a perminate one for the same price. I do not know your situation but if you only got 10 bucks a week and you waited 5 weeks it would be worth it because you would never have to buy another one again.
Just some of my pinions but it is you choice realy but i do agree on the price it is high i do not know if this will work but tsias and mip make center drives for about 30 bucks (10 bucks less than mikes) but the fit stock e-maxx so i dont know if they will work on the revo.

That's all true. No sense putting a cubic zirconia in a setting of flawless diamonds. :)
The only reason I recommend the stok Revo shafts (if they will fit) is that they hold up very well, relatively inexpensive, lighter, and readily available.
