GTB3.5 vs MM7700? -
12.13.2006, 08:06 PM
Anyone know which is faster on 2S Lipo?
Normally...I'd say MM straight away...but the 3.5 is supposed to have 10,500KV... :032:

I not sure which is faster.
The mamba would be versatile. You can change motors to bigger variety.
Peace!

I am not sure what would be faster, id take the MM as well, though.
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

The 5700 on 3s Lipo will blow the 3.5 on 2s Lipo away...
But for 2s Lipo (and only 2s Lipo) the 3.5 should beat the 7700 in terms of speed.

Well, I am only going to have 2S packs, so thats what I'm going to use if I get a touring car...
Its hard, I know the Mamba is a better overall system, but I am also very partial to Novak, which has never failed me, and numbers wise, it seems faster...

On 2s Lipo. If you think you will ever be upgrading to higher voltage, then get the Mamba Max system. Even the 7700 could be too fast on 2s Lipo.

Well, one other thing is the Sensored only ROAR rule. If I get a Touring Car, I want to race it...doing anything else with one doesn't really appeal to me.

The 3.5 could very well be too fast, depending on the track you would race on.

Maybe...but I do have good throttle control if I say so myself...comes from driving a Jato off road with bald rear tires (the stock ones wear out soooooooo fast). You could also just say driving a Jato in general...thing is faster than...well...its the fastest truck I have... My G2R gets it off the line for the first 10 feet or so...thats about it...
PS. Its a Jato 2.5 geared down to a 20T CB and a 58T spur...

Ask the guys who run their cars at the track what motors they run. Just curious, which track is this?

www.SocalRC.com (I take my G2R there all the time even though its a bit tight for me, so I was thinking of getting a TC to mess around with)
I'm pretty sure they enforce roar rules...everyone there that has a BL has a GTB...

The way i see it, if you need a ROAR approved setup, go Novak. If you can run with anything, go mamba max, you won't be disappointed. Mine is in a T4 with 6 celled packs and a 3s lipo for speed runs, on 6 cells its incredible, I can pull 6.5's and 5.5 out of the corners, on 3s lipo its absolutely insane.
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
