How to get around eBay rules? -
01.23.2007, 03:50 PM
I'm always selling stuff to buy more RC stuff. I wanted to sell a Playstation 2. Normally, no problem. But this PS2 has the latest state of the art modchip installed! Man, eBay slammed the door on that auction before it could even start. Is there a way to get around them? Or maybe sort of weasel word the description so that people will know what I'm really selling?

I'm not a gamer so forgive me if this comment shows my ignorance of the gaming world, but are the "mod chips" illegal? Why would they kill the listing?

there illegal because you can just burn a copy of a game that you rent from a store and just play it on the consol.(free games) instead of paying 40 or so buks.
did you say that it had a chip installed in the item description?

Mike, I sort of just said that it was "equipped" with a DMS 4 Pro SE. I figured they wouldn't know, I was wrong! Sylvester, that sounds like a good idea. I also thought of taking a picture of the chip and adding that to the picture gallery. Hopefully they don't check the pics as well as the description. Good gosh, the things we go through for this hobby.

If they let it run they'd be an accessory to a crime, modding gamming consoles are illegal and they can't have that
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

mod chips are very popular for gaming ecpecially in the xbox and on halo 2 and other games. My friends have these chips but i am to afraid to soder them in cause there illegal and i dont want to screw up the xbox but they are somewhat cool though.
