Trying to build a track for the soldiers - 02.28.2007, 08:52 AM

A handfull of guys including myself decided we want to build a track here on the base in germay. The problem is we all didnt get into r/c until we came over here so none of us have any experience with track building. A couple of us have never even seen a real track in person. Any suggestions or building tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

these are pict i have taken at a local BMX track. the jumps are too big for racing but great for bashing.

what you need is lots of dirt to make jumps, at least a small buldozer as doing it manually just with shovels would take ages

and here are pictures from a track used for mostly buggies but MT race there too thi i think they deserve more and bgger jumps

good advice but the problem is I can dig at the site , but I cant bring in any dirt. Its going to be a lot of hard manual labor. So far I have only been told I might be able to get a small tractor with a bucket loader.

then you can make the jumps the other way - dig around them. jumps dont have to be huge as big jumps are hard to control especially during a fast race.
but before u start digging make a plan so you know what u doing

Yeah thats kind of what the plan is right now. We want to go as big as we can on the jumps though we all drive monsters. How far apart would the jumps be on a triple or double?

here is a picture of bmx track thats is our favorite for big jumps.

http://smrada.mysteria.cz/galerie/rc...es/image2.html

the problem with this track is that its hard to see the truck as the jumps are really high (2-2.5meters the biggest ones)

and you need to see your truck ALL THE TIME

I am pretty sure that in Germany there are BMX tracks too! a BMX track is nice for bashing, not for racing though.

well is its 120 EUR/year per use not per person than its a good price. normaly RC clubs here charge 50-70 EURO a year per person for membership tho you can pay like 40 euro less if u spend 15+h working on keeping the track
