I have been doing the same thing with a 9xl motor. I am going to go back to 4s though because I think the 5s might be a little to much for the mm.
I will probably end up going back to the higher voltage when the mmm or quark plasma come out.

I'm going back to 4s myself, not because i don't think the mm can't handle it, its just too strong. I slung the pads off a revo slipper on a slipperential, the slipper may have been a little loose but thats impressive power

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I have been doing some research and this is what I came up with.

Mamba Max, external UBEC made to handle 4s Lipo (Anyone tell me how?) with fan and heatsink mount

Lehner Basic XL 2400

Would that setup give me the same power as the finedesigns truck? I understand that they have bad CS but they are the only company I have read a reveiw of and I really like the power their models have.

thanks again for all the help guys.

You need to remove the red wire from the MM going to the receiver. (the red one from the three)

Reason why their models are powerful is because they use hot motors (high KV) read my sticky in the brushless section.

The lehners will surpass the fine design motors by far.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL
