Flextek Arms -Advice Wanted-

OK guys i have these Flextek arms (maxx arms) sitting around and they are bothering me in 2 ways. The first way is that they are very sloppy as far as movement. the wiggle all around due to the bad spacer design. Second because of the thicker width of the arm. The shocks bind because they are going out from top to bottom because the shock standoffs do not line up with the lower shock mounts (on arms they are flared out more and out of line). This creates friction on the shocks and makes them compress very hard because the shock shafts are not exactly straight up they are slightly curved. I am using FLM shock towers and standoffs, FLM hybrid bulks, big bore shocks, and sliders. Can anyone help me with these problems. Thanks

(i heard that daf has made some custom arm spacers for better performance how can i make or buy these and will they help)

Could you solve the shock-rubbing issue with some extra stand-offs??

i could yes but i do not know for sure if the other standoffs would be longer. I have tried to throw some shims between the standoffs to allow for the shocks to stand out more, but i can only get 2 shims in there becasuse the nut is not that long. What do you think about the spacers issue?

You could also try longer screws so the spacers would work?

Yeah, i am using homemade spacers on mine. I am using 1/8th thick titanium shocktowers, which make the off-set even bigger.

I used rather large aluminum spacers/UE stand-offs

I emailed them at flextek, but they played the killed innocence.. I was the absolute first in the world who contacted them about the sloppiness and the poor quality of their worthless bushings. It must had been something with burrs on either the aluminum bulks or their titanium arms.. Right....

I think if you use some thinking, you will figure out the issues like Serum had done. I'm sure the arms are nice, but not everything comes without some thinking to it....try Serums idea and see what you can do. That's my opinion. I would not sell them though....

you are right i have indeed figured out a way for them to work. It is way better than the first time i tryed it, the smoothness of the arms i mean. But put it this way there is a tiny bit more smoothness to the plastic arms than there are to the ti ones. But for racing and bashing i do not think this difference will make a difference. It compresses different than the plastic arms with same shocks, but then again i can not get acurate compression ratios. I can not do this because the shock positions on the ti arms are in different places than on the plastic arms. This will make the ti arms either feel softer (shock motion) or harder to compress than the stocks because of there different shock angles. But i do not beleve that this should make a difference. The only reason i am selling them is because of there look and that they dont match my machined maxx and they get dirty easy. But i will get over that. SO i am going to my LHS and i willl talk to the guy that is going to buy them if he can get me what i want i will get rid of them if not i will keep them. I will probably keep them though because i am kindof attached to them and if i decide to use different arms anyway it will not hurt me to leave them lying around anyway.

What kind of condition are they in? If they are in mint, i'll think about it.

About the 'slack', is this an axial movement, or just plain loose?
