Definitely going to need new diffs! - 07.01.2005, 09:54 AM

Well, my rear diff is definitely stripped. It's kind of fun to watch the front tires balloon like crazy though!

Luckily, I've got about 4 extra diffs, I started stocking up on them a while back. Figured that with the 9L I would need them. Hopefully it won't go through them too fast.

I just ordered some of the aluminum cases from Mike, and I'll be ordering the diff cups and spyders soon as well. Those things aren't cheap though, so hopefully the diffs I have lying around will get me through until I can get what I need!

Did you also ordered aluminum diff cases (the part that goes around the complete diff/gears) those help you to keep your ringgear/pinion in one piece (two actually) and a set of shims to give it a proper mesh. That way, you can run your 9L without to much diff problems..

Yep, ordered the aluminum cases from Mike yesterday. Actually, went ahead and got the upgraded gears for one of them. Figure I'll use the strong one in the rear and I can put some stock gears up front and they should hold for a while. Don't seem to get as much stress up there.
