I couldn't believe the pics when i saw them..

Jhautz, you expressed my feelings as well.

The voltage boosters are too pathetic for words..

It's easy to find flaws in this conversion, but lets keep this in mind;

it's a brushless conversion..

Perhaps with the 80 hours of work, he included 72 hours of waiting for the truck to arrive?

my first lightning conversion was done in 7-8 hours of total time..

The revo is easier to do IMO..

Currently working on a revo from stock conversion.. time invested so far; 3.5 hours.

Now come on Daf! Your newest "G3" revo with the slipperential and the Ti arms is certainly worth publishing! I mean, it's built better than ANY manufactured item that I can think of! And it's certainly head, shoulders, arms (etc) above the one that was published! I know that if I had something like that, I wouldn't run it - it would sit in a strategically lighted display case. :)

That's a god idea really. What if a bunch of us sent in a coupel pics of our conversions all the same week... dozens of examples...

That would blow the minds of many of hte mag guys who don't poke around past their own website

Dafni You should definately put in picture of the revoxx V1 on their page not only is it 2 years old but but by far it is one on the cleanest installs while using the stock chassis!

Oh good, I'm glad to see you guys are of the same mind. I edited back some of my comments b/c I thought maybe I was just being a Dick..Cheney.

What irked me from teh start is that this was so crudely done, not well thought out for the supposed time invested, but expressed the point that it was really difficult, time consuming and expensive. All for the goal of "being able to switch back to nitro within an hour" as if the brushless was just a novelty or parlor trick, certainly not race worthy.

Silly, mine took maybe a week working an hour or two after the baby went to bed. The nitro parts I removed pretty much covered the BL stuff, and my lipos give me a 30 min runtime as opposed to his 7. Mine may not be the prettiest, but I know its far more durable, reliable and drivable than that.

If it was just going into someone's post, then fine, no complaints. I doubt many have had a first-time conversion that they wouldn't change a bit the next time. However for a mag feature showcasing the brushless conversions, I expect something better. I know Novak and Traxxas sponsored it, so there are prob "goals" they insisted on that may have hamstrung the coversion a bit, but come on. Every conversion I've seen here was done better than this one, except Nzcabmasterwhatever's one that was done with cardboard... :P.
Ok..wow.. let my real thoughts out there...

Anyway, I agree that one of our fine members here should do a proper write-up, at least put together a collage of pics to send in to show some really well done conversions. Don't be modest Daf, much of your conversions and custom work is truely masterful. Didn't you pretty much develop the emaxx tranny drop in? Brian's V2 is also great w/ the stock tranny... There are a number that don't get the attention they deserve.

Yeah, as far as I know I was the first with the E tranny. At least I got the idea myself, without seeing it before or talking to anyone on the internet about it.
And Mr Starscream was the first with the Revo tranny, I think our trucks hit the net at about the same time. I was on LSARC back then.

Shelf queen? No way! I build RCs with performance in mind... for shelfies you could leave out some things (driveline) and put on shiny shiny polished alu... but I never cared for shelf trucks. Matter of fact, when my RCs are not in use, I put them pretty much out of sight, all stacked on a hidden corner shelf :)

See, missed one already!

Not to mention Mike and the others here who have collaborated with him to make some really fine custom conversion parts, the Quark HS, Slipperentials, and Revo Motor mounts just as an example. Throwing a nice stock chassis conversion together with some of those parts amongst the rest Mike has would make a really nice article.
