can the hybrids hold the stock gears, i was under the impression that they can hold stock gears and 1/8 scale?

The combo bulks hold the stock maxx type diffs, the hybrid bulks hold 1/8 scale diffs.

so the hybrids wont accept the stockers at all? i knew the combo bulks carried the stockers.

correct, the hybrids will not fit the stockers, only the combos will.

The only difference between the combo and hybrid is the diff that it houses. 1/8 buggy diffs for the hybrid and stock size for the combo.

I have the combos installed for a few weeks (30+ bash sessions) and love them so far.

Be sure to get aluminum diffcups as well! they are a must for using stock diffs. (get them with M3 thread for the ringgear)

which is the toughest upgrade e-maxx diffs? i really dont want to go wit 1/8 diffs so whats my next best option?

Although this is the best option with using stock sized diffs, with only a small cost difference between that option and the Hybrids/HB Lightning diffs, I'd go with the Hybrid/Lightning diffs. That way, you never have to upgrade again. I think it's only about $40 more for that option. Heck, you could even eBay your stock bulks/diffs to recoup $15-20 of that.

Besides, 1/8ths are tunable with fluid which really helps with brushless.

I only bash... I run ofna high temp green diff lube up front and ofna diff lock lube in the rear.

The diff lock lube make it drive like I have a spool installed unless extreme force is applied to a rear tire, then it will allow diff action.

I wonder when the Hybrid diffs will be back in stock. I want to get a couple sets as well.

i would assume DickyT packed the diff cups with the diff lube.... right dicky?

i packed my aluminum diff cups with this stuff (the back cup is practically airtight - it slows the diff action, but not too much. the front has a bit less. the consistency is about that of toothpaste... maybe just a bit thinner).
