input needed for brushless emaxx 3905

I'm new to the world of brushless but not to RC's. Looking for some good advice and tips

So I recently purchased a new emaxx with the intention of going to a brushless system at some point.

I've done a fair bit of reading on the forums here and elsewhere. I'm leaning towards a feigao 8XL with a Mamba Max conroller. It seems like that's what a lot of people are running for similar apps. Also seems like the best bang for the buck. I'm still looking for input though and opinions.

I'm also confused about how the MM can work with a 14 cell nimh setup or a 4 lipo setup. I thought that the controller was limited to 12 and 3. But everyone seems to be running them.
