So I bought a used Muggy...and thinking about running it nitro for a while... - 08.14.2008, 04:40 PM

Nitro, yes, sad but true. I've been looking at some of the Muggies here and I've seen them in person and they look very cool. I have my ST truggy, but I wanted to leave that more for racing and not having it do double duty as a basher. Plus I wanted to get a huge MF monster truck. I had been looking at that huge CEN MT, but it looked like a PITA to work on and convert to BL, plus it would be nice to have a basher that actually had parts at the LHS. The Muggy is huge, looks like it drives great, and has a simple and open 3 diff truggy design. ==> Perfect.

Eventually I'm thinking of going 1515 2y on 10S with my 5S 4000mah zippy packs when I get my 9032 back from MGM (I was supposed to sell it to cover the Hyper truggy I bought, instead I bought another truck for it, lol.) In the meantime, I've thought about running it nitro for a little while just for something different and get the experience w/ the fiddly little noise makers.

Here's the truck I got. Seems like a decent enough deal for me. I should have everything I need to run it but fuel right? I have some spare fuel bottles for refueling I obviously never used on my conversions. Needs some after run oil as well. I should have a crappy little 6 cell for the starter if not included. Frakking package is 33 lbs, so should have a lot in it.
Any other help? I've driven nitros twice for a total of 10 mins. Never tuned or cared for one. The 427 is supposed to be a very easy engine to tune, so that should help. Its already ran and broke in, so I just need to tune it and run it I guess. Any tutorials, or just read the Losi manual?

I have no plans on spending any money on new pipes or engines or crap like that. I may even sell the integy shocks and buy another stock plastic one. I just want a reliable basher to mess with.
