My next brushless project RC8T some ?????? - 09.03.2008, 05:02 AM

well with jhautz help i have converted my rc8 buggy to brushless. well almost im still waiting on my speed control. with that in mind i have sold my bce pjx crt in order to get the new truggy to go with my buggy. the truggy should be here thursday.

The setup is going to be identical to what jhautz runs in his xray
neu 1515 2.5d
mmm
5s

but now i have some decisions to make. after going over the owners manual i realized the truggy uses a different spur gear from the buggy the buggy uses a 44 tooth and the truggy uses a 54 tooth. now the diff mounts are the same the only difference is the truggy uses a spacer that they call a diff brace to raise the center diff up high enough

im going to gear it for about 40mph now my choices are to got o buggy gearing and run smaller pinions or to just leave it how it is and run the truggy gearing.

the benifits i see with going with the buggy gearing is it lowers everything down some motor included. but then i run into the problem if i run a 14 tooth pinion or 13 tooth with the rc monster mount will run into clearance issues with the motor and other things

the gearing choice would be
54/18 = 39.7
44/14 = 40.2

what is everyones opinoin on this i will be posting alot of pictures along with the build
