Everyone gives the MLST a bad rap. I had an original one, that I put all ball diffs in. I ran 7.2/7.4V with 7,000kv motor. The diffs held up fine, other than loosening up themselves. I just started running them tight and locktite the diff nut. This was with the stock diff pinions too. I will say they do seem to have their share of problems, I always seamed to bust arms/bend hinge pins from doing cartwheels.. I now have a M18T and it is a rocket with only 5,000kv @7.4V. It seems to take a pretty good beating with no breakage. You can't go wrong with X-ray.
