My Micro T cap mod - 02.23.2009, 09:35 PM

I've had a micro dt for awhile now. I haven't ran it due to having the stock crap battery.. I got a decent lipo from hobbycity. It's a rhino 2s 610mah 20c lipo.

Now the car is pretty dang fast. I can do wheelies every so often and I get great speeds out of this little thing. I should also mention I get 1hr+ runtimes... My motor temp is around 200f.

I still have the stock motor and I'm looking to increase performance. One of the battery leads came out of the board so I decided to throw a cap in there I salvaged from, ironically, and old broken tx.

I plug it in a for the first minute of the run I really don't notice much. Then all of a sudden it comes alive! I get wheelies every time I go from a standstill. I get sooo much more punch at every speed. This thing is amazing!! Unfortunately my run ended when I went full speed into a large pot and broke a knuckle. That was after I couldnt steer it because the front wheels were in the air! ha

Here is a pic. You can see the cap and how I fit the 610mah lipo in there. The cap is a 10uf 25v cap.

I'd also like to mention this is my first time soldering to a board! All went well.
