Question Question about voltage and amps in batteries - 03.01.2009, 07:31 AM

I was curious to know the difference between 4s + 6s setups.

My understanding is 6s runs cooler because it revs the motor more so needs to be geared down and hence draws less current. If this is correct then high amp 4s will put out the same power as low amp 6s, and high amp 6s geared up will run just as hot as a high amp 4s setup.

I ask this question because I have some 2s and 3s packs of different capacity(of course). 2s - 5ah 20c and 3s 2.2ah 25c. Given the 3s is nearly half the amps as the 2s (..ah multiplied by ..c) they should roughly be geared to the same speed.

Am I correct on this or are there to many variables in the rest of the set up?
I love rc but electricity is not my forte any comments or guidence is appreciated.

edit; I just read the thread 'are zippy lipo's no good with caslte mmm?'- lots of info on this subject.
