Hyper 7 PBS updates - 04.26.2009, 02:01 AM

It has been a long time since my first conversion, so I decided it was time to do some updates to it. Here is the list of changes:

Motor, Medusa 60mm 2200kv - the add-on heat sink had to be dremeled to not hit the brace and center diff cup
Battery, 2x Zippy 2S 20C 5000mah
Servo, Towerpro MG946R
Battery tray, custom made
Wiring cleanup

After running it for two days, all I can is 'WOW'.

Played with the buggy yesterday on grass and gravel for about 20 minutes and nothing was hot - could touch the electronics without being uncomfortable. Also the performance has improved considerably compare to before (with the finned 9L and lower quality lipos).

With the current gearing of 13/46, the Medusa isn't sweating at all. I might just bump the pinion up to 14 or 15.

The servo is pretty decent too, especially for the price; strong and fairly accurate. Didn't notice any of the complaints about them (yet). Time will tell though.

Here are some pics...

The battery tray is made from a cheap ($2) plastic case with compartments. After a bit of dremeling, I bolted it to the chassis then put a foam insert and strapped it with some velcro.
