E-Maxx Upgrade Questions -

Hello All,
After reading for a while on here, I decided it was time to ask some questions about upgrading my E-Maxx. I've done a lot of searches, so I hope these questions are somewhat intelligent.
I have a completely stock E-Maxx except for Hot Bodies threaded shocks and Revo Tires/Wheels. What I would like is to upgrade to a brushless setup, upgrade necessary drivetrain parts, upgrade the steering servo/servo saver and possibly upgrade the chassis as well. I would like to run 12-14 cells, with 12 cells being used the most often often. I have several sets of SMC Matched GP3300 6 cell packs, so those will be the first I'll use until I decide to step up to something newer. I'm a bit partial to Lehner as I have a Basic 5300 in my touring car and love the build quality of it. After reading a bit, it looks like if I want to stay with Lehner and 12-14 cells, the 2800XL is probably a good match for me. However, I have read multiple posts on here regarding which ESC to purchase. Of course, I would love to get away with a 7018 due to the price, but I could live with buying a 9920 if necessary. So, would a relatively stock E-Maxx perform well with a 2800XL and 7018 or 9020 on 12-14 cells?
My next question is what parts do I need to upgrade my drivetrain? I have the original E-Maxx, not the Widemaxx, so I'd need shorter CVD's. However, I've been thinking about changing out my A-Arms and turnbuckles to the Widemaxx version, either with Traxxas or RPM Arms. So, if I change those out, which CVD's and center drives would be recommended as an upgrade? Also, what other gears/drivetrain parts would I benefit from.
My overall goal is to have a pretty quick E-Maxx ~40mph, keep it pretty light and have it sturdy enough to bash with. I'm pretty open to any suggestions, but I do like the idea of the 2800XL and 7018 or 9920 combo. Also, anyone know the price of a 7018? It's not shown in the storefront.
Thanks,
Sean
