Thanks for the link, I'll look into it. This thing is MINT, not even a scratch on it, so I'd like to fix it rather than blow it to bits but at the same time it would be so satisfying...

EDIT: That penny trick is intriguing...who'da thunk? Makes perfect sense, I'll give it a shot and see how it goes. All the other vids I've seen and the guides I've read (no I didn't buy any, that's stupid IMO) all said that I needed to polish the heatsink surface, replace the thermalpaste, and add/remove washers from those X-clamps.
