Overboard, probably, but you have to think if you have young children playing around, maybe picking up the dog's toys & trying to play with, it may think they're trying to take its toys away = conflict. I wouldnt trust a rehomed animal with little kids, especially if it has a history.

Heck, there have been plenty of young children killed or mauled by family pets recently, even when that pet has been owned since a puppy and raised with the kids- the animals dont know any better, its just nature.
