ESC advise - 04.28.2010, 01:38 PM

this is the second esc i've broken in 2 weeks. the first was a mamba, the second, a tekin. i need to figure out what's going on because i don't think it's from faulty equipment.

i've got my esc zip-tied down on the esc tray with about 1/4" of foam under it. however, both times, after a big jump, it lands, loses all power, and nothing works.

the monster mamba i figured out was the power wires came off of the board. no biggie. i was doing some huge air.

the tekin issue came after a 20ft jump(roughly) and when it landed, one of the esc wires had come lose from the connecter, and i thought, "no biggie, i'll fix it tonight"...it didn't short on any of the posts either because everything is insulated with heatshrink. there aren't any exposed areas where a short could occur.

so i resoldered it on and then i went to turn it on, and nothing. no power at all. i hooked up the hotwire, and it dosen't recognioze the esc. the only thing i'm getting is one or all of the caps are charging because i';m getting a spark when i hook up a 6S...but not a 4S. weird.

so i'm baffled...

anyone have any ideas or how i can better protect my esc?
