Could this true ?? - 06.14.2010, 07:34 PM

I was reading about these bad @ssed Mini cats (RC Boats) at ;
http://www.minicatracingusa.com/index.html

And found this during a info search;

The water cooled electronic speed control (ESC) is programmable for either Nickel Metal Hydride or Lithium Polymer batteries and has preset voltage cutoffs to protect your valuable batteries from over discharging. The ESC is perfectly matched with the powerful 280 size inrunner motor. Recommended batteries are: 8 cell 2/3A 1200-1500mAh NiMh in stick or hump style or 3S 11.v 1500mAh Lipo battery. You should use a 20-25C discharge pack. DO NOT USE 30C BECAUSE it produces an initial SURGE that will damage or blow out the ESC! The amount of AMPS produced is not the issue. You can use any mAh rating you want. Check our Links section for Vision Hobbies. They sell excellent Lithium Polymer packs at reasonable prices!

What kind of ESC has probs with a 30C pack ??

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.
