Diff sizes

Just wondering if losi and ae diffs are close enough in size to be interchangeable. Basically I want to run the losi l8ight model front oneway in my rc8. I can already see I would need to swap outdrive bearings to the non flanged ae type and the ring gear as well but don't want to order it only to find out it won't work. Has anyone tried running a losi diff in an ae car? I think I remember someone using the smartdiffs in other vehicles but not sure. I figured if anyone knew they would be here.
