Could not figure out why I was blowing front diff gears...I checked everything, proper shimming, changed oil weights, etc....
So, let me back up a bit first. When I bought my mbx5t and converted it, I neglected to re-shim diffs before trying it out....I know shame on me. That was 3 yrs. ago. So, I blew the diffs in short order. Tore truck down, re-shimmed, refilled diffs with proper fluid and I was off. Rear diff was flawless, but since the first tear down, I have had an issue with the front diff. Much to my surprise today when I pulled out the manual was that I had forgotten since the first tear down to install 4 small O rings between the gear and washer ( ones that are on the cross pins ). The rear diff does not have these same O rings so I just pain forgot to reinstall them. Since I have owned 2 Mugens, and have not touched the manual in yrs...as I can rebuild it in my sleep,...do I feel stupid.
No guarantees this will solve the issue entirely, but I bet I will not have the same issues anyways.
Thought I'd share my stupid move of the yr...
