Heat issues :( - 07.01.2006, 10:42 AM

I'm looking for some suggestions.

All my brushless gear seems to be getting extremely hot - both motors and ESC.

I had the Lehner 5300 installed in my XXXS G+, after about a 15 minute run on 7 cells, both the motor and controller were too hot to touch. Same deal on the T3.

What should i be looking at in terms of gearing for the 5300 - like in terms of an equivalent brushed motor? I have it geared for at the ratio recommended for a 14 turn brushed...is that too low?

Everything is meshed properly, transmissions running smoothly, freely and quietly - i cant think of what the problem can be, except gearing. How low does this thing need to be geared? Am i too low? Too high?
