It's possible, but it's more than enough power. The Maxximum and 12 cells is all that's need to have a buggy that can beat the nitros. If you plan on racing, then Lipos would be a better choice.

Another motor choice is the Neu 1512 2.5D. It would be easier to gear in a Hyper 7 than the Maxximum since it has a lower kv.
