Talked to Castle About Monster Maxx - 10.22.2006, 04:38 PM

I was at the International Hobby Expo in Chicago this weekend. Of course Castle Creations was there. I started asking questions about the Monster Maxx and at first they were not willing to provide much info on the new systems capabilities. But I kept probing with questions about small details and I got a little info that I thought that you all might find interesting.

I told them I was putting together a system and was trying to decide if I should wait for the Monster Maxx to come out or just go with something else and that if it was going to be in the next few months I would wait. The response was "I wouldn't wait then, I'd be surprised if was before next summer".

Then in talking about the system I wanted to set up I was discussing options on the market for controllers and I told him I wanted to run either 5s or 6s lipo. He then whispered "if you go with 5s and a high efficiency motor like a Nue, you can run the Mamba Maxx with an external BEC and it will handle it, but thats unofficial and I can't say that so don't tell anyone" (as he smiled). Then I asked if I want 6s I should wait for the Monster Maxx. He said "yea".

Not sure if this is new info, but I thought some of you might be interested in the hint at timing and 6s capability of the Monster maxx and also outside the specs capability of the Mamba maxx.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Silent...But Deadly
