Just yesterday I went out to the local 1/8 offroad track with my brushless Revo. At many times I was the only guy on the track (out of maybe 10 nitros) since some guys were having to deal with their nitro engines. Towards the end of the day I was turning the heads of some of the better drivers (like the ones sponsored by Ofna, Panther, etc.). But by no means is my driving near theirs, and my Revo certainly isn't set up perfectly. On top of that, my Crime Fighter MTs weren't hooking up on that surface.

Anyways, after the steering arm on my Revo broke, I took it back to the pits and ended up talking with a guy (sponsored by Ofna). Our conversation was sort of back-and-forth about electric vs. nitro. The way he was talking it seemed that he thought the brushless controllers go into thermal protection mode too much, which my Revo wasn't having any problems with (thanks to the fan on the MM). Then we started talking about batteries. With the new Maxamps 5000mah cells, you could get 4 of them and build a powerful 4s pack for ~$150. Then, you'd need two sets if you wanted to be at all competitive. The guy brought up that two sets of batteries would be the cost of a nitro engine. My reply was that the batteries will last a long time, and he said that the engine in his Ofna Hyper ST had been through 5 gallons. Unfortunately, I failed to mention that 5 gallons of fuel would cost the normal guy at least $125 (for all I know he might get fuel through a sponsorship). Our conversation ended for the most part at that point because I had to go home. But next weekend I'm hoping to make it out there again with the Revo, and I should also have a replacement spur gear that stripped on my X-Terminator (the Feigao 540C motor is coming apart at the front endbell).
