question about b.e.c. and the hv maxx system

i have an hvmaxx4.5 novak system and my ? is if i wire it for one battery input it says i may need to use a receiver pack , has any one who has used this type of setup wired for one pack and did you notice any servo voltage issues? i also have a dig. high torque servo for steering and a high torque servo for brakes, any help would be great, i do want to use only one 14.8 volt maxamp pack so one connector is how i need to set up
