motor mount for LSP

I have decided to convert my LSP to BL, since it would have been too expensive to get the maxx built correctly, plus truggies handle better than stock maxxes. I would like to hear from anyone on these forums who has converted a LSP. Should i just get a piece of aluminum angle and cut it so that I can mount it to the center diff supports and the chassis? How thick does it need to be (don't want to have any motor shaft length problems)? Thanks for any help!
