Well, if you MUST go to the dark side (:)), you could probably get a new Traxxas 2.5 off ebay for pretty cheap (~$90) since everything seems to be moving over to the 3.3. I believe the CRT.5 is meant to run a .12 for race legality, so I guess it depends if you are really going to race. I really don't know much about Nitro prices as that is old stuff. ;)

The servos will have to be mini ones, like the Hitec HS225MG - which is ~$30. There are others you can use I'm sure, but that seems to be a popular one since it is plenty strong (67 oz-in) and fast ( 0.1sec IIRC) for 1/12 scale uses.
