Problem solved....I hope.A nitro RCer heard me mention my project an offered some advice.Since Ive never owned a nitro vehicle I didnt know that the 2 speed diff works with a clutch that basicly "floats" in a situation like mine, which is why I only had one direction and no brakes. So after taking the diff apart, removing one spur gear then J.B.Welding the clutch assembly to the support shaft, rendering the diff a single speed, operating in either direction and brakes too.As of this message Ive only run it on my work bench so Im keeping my fingers crossed.

Mission accomplished. After much bashing the J.B.Welding seems to have solved my problems, full forward, reverse and brake.Only one drawback,a very noticable slack in forward to reverse and vice versa.but not to the point of ruining my bash-fest.Thanks for your responses.
